ABOUT AZIZA

Growing up in Suriname, a richly diverse country — with a Caribbean mother and a Palestinian father, I always knew there was more to beauty than the straight hair I constantly saw in mainstream media.

At just 12 years old, I started mixing my own hair ‘potions’ using natural ingredients, trying to care for my curls in a way that felt authentic to me. When I moved to Amsterdam to pursue my degree, the shift in climate changed my hair once again, and I found myself back in the kitchen, experimenting with formulas that eventually had friends and family asking for their own.
Through all of this, I’ve come to identify as a lazy natural, someone who loves their hair but doesn’t have time for a 12-step routine. I wanted to create products that are clean, effective, and simple, something that supports your hair without overcomplicating your life.

What I’ve realized is that many natural haircare brands still lack true inclusivity. Textured hair isn’t defined by race, gender, or skin tone. It lives in all of us.
